A fresh Star Wars antagonist has caught fan attention for drawing inspiration from an unexpected source—Disney’s The Incredibles. While it might sound unusual at first, the comparison reveals how villain archetypes flow across different sci-fi franchises, and it raises an interesting question about what makes a compelling antagonist in the galaxy far, far away.

The similarities appear to stem from how this new villain wields their powers and approaches conflict in ways that echo other sci-fi properties. Rather than viewing this as a creative misstep, it’s worth considering that certain villain frameworks simply work across multiple universes. The Incredibles crafted memorable antagonists by focusing on ideology and overwhelming capability—themes that resonate deeply in Star Wars storytelling too. When done right, these archetypal elements can feel fresh within a new context.

Star Wars has always borrowed from classic storytelling traditions, and that’s part of what makes the franchise so enduring. The question for fans becomes: does this villain’s execution stand on its own merits, or does the comparison overshadow what makes them unique to the Star Wars universe? The design philosophy matters less than whether the character serves the narrative and challenges our heroes in meaningful ways. As the fandom continues to debate this new threat, it’s a good reminder that great stories often share DNA across franchises—what matters is how skillfully the storytellers adapt those ideas for their own galaxy.
