The title’s narrative choices are drawing comparisons to controversial moments from the prequel era, and fans aren’t holding back their criticism of how the Jedi are portrayed—or how they behave in this latest interactive story.

For years, the Star Wars community has debated whether the Jedi deserve the blame often leveled at them for their role in galactic events. This racing title apparently doubles down on that tension, presenting scenarios that make the Jedi’s choices look even more questionable to modern audiences. It’s a fascinating example of how even ancillary Star Wars games can become vehicles for deeper franchise discussions. Whether you sympathize with the Jedi Order or think they had it coming, the game is clearly forcing players to reckon with their legacy in ways that go beyond lightsaber swinging and Force powers.

This kind of narrative depth in a racing game shows that Star Wars gaming isn’t afraid to challenge fan assumptions about beloved institutions. Whether you agree with the portrayal or not, it’s great to see Lucasfilm willing to explore moral ambiguity through interactive media. What matters most is that we’re still talking about these characters and their choices years later—and this game proves that passion endures across every corner of the franchise.

This post was inspired by reporting from TheGamer – Star Wars.
