LucasArts and Rebellion gaming among those working on PS4

As we probably all know by now,  Sony finally announced it’s much awaited new system, the PS4. The PS4 (dubbed the “most powerful platform ever”) will come with 8GB of unified system memory, and houses a “highly enhanced” PC GPU “containing a unified array of 18 compute units, which collectively generate 1.84 Teraflops of processing power that can freely be applied to graphics, simulation tasks, or some mixture of the two. Sounds pretty killer to me, although it will have be decently priced in order for me to purchase it.

Something that will hopefully bring some new hope to our Star Wars gaming community is IGN’s recently posted image of the all the companies working with Sony on PlayStation 4 games. Within that image is LucasArts (located on the bottom left) and Rebellion Gaming which, as most of us know, brought us Star Wars: Renegade Squadron and Star Wars: Elite Squadron.

PS4 Gaming Companies

We don’t really know what this might mean for a Battlefront 3 but at least it is something. We do know that Star Wars: 1313 has been rumoured to be on the next gen consoles (I.E. PS4).

A big thanks to our forum member “jedirayn” for the heads up!
